Biography

Mackenzie Stern is an Immigration Lawyer at Unified Immigration Lawyers PC, where she assists individuals and families with a wide variety of Canadian immigration matters, including complex applications involving previous refusals, procedural fairness concerns, and various inadmissibility issues. 

Her practice includes:

  • Temporary Residence: Study permits, work permits, and Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), including applications following one or more prior refusals.
  • Permanent Residence & Sponsorship: Permanent residence applications (Express Entry and PNP) and spousal sponsorships, including files with complicated immigration histories.
  • Citizenship: Canadian citizenship applications with cases of criminal prohibitions.
  • Procedural Fairness Responses: Responding to procedural fairness letters that raise misrepresentation and serious criminal inadmissibility concerns.
  • Immigration Litigation: Applications for judicial review at the Federal Court challenging refusals, and mandamus applications for clients facing unreasonable processing delays.

Mackenzie is passionate about helping clients make Canada their home. For her, the most rewarding part of being a lawyer is helping clients achieve their goals and make meaningful changes in their lives, particularly after setbacks in the process. She takes the time to ensure clients feel comfortable with the Canadian immigration process and make well-informed decisions at every stage.

Mackenzie earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a focus
